A Successful Family Feast!

A Message from Vashon PTO
Friday's Family Feast was a huge success and we can't thank you enough for being such a wonderful community!
Thank you to everyone who has donated and to everyone who attended. We also want to send our sincere thanks to Vashon School District's Food Services for providing a delicious dinner and to the Vashon High School Jazz Band for their amazing entertainment. Lastly, a huge thank you to VIGA for their commitment to match $3000 raised to go towards the CES Garden!
Below is a run-down of the funds that were raised for each school's chosen requests - if you did not get a chance to donate and see a fund below that you would like to help get closer to their goal, we are still accepting donations at this webpage.
Chautauqua Elementary School:
- Goal: $2,000 for a Garden Coordinator stipend that will allow the school to open up the garden during recesses and lunches and hosting classes in the garden for students. Raised: $2,230 - Goal exceeded!
- Goal: $1,000 for implements for the garden (implements, plants, a table and chairs, etc.). Raised: $661 - 66% funded
McMurray Middle School:
- Goal: $1,500 for scholarships for Exploratory Week, a beloved, experiential learning program on Vashon Island that features field trips and hands-on, project-based activities for 8th Graders, designed to help students discover interests and gain real-world experience. Raised: $1,650! Goal exceeded!
- Goal: $1,500 for art and elective class supplies. Raised: $1,223 - 82% funded
Vashon High School:
- Goal: $3,000 for Associated Student Body (ASB) Funds. Associated Student Body (ASB) funds are raised on behalf of students. They are used for optional, extracurricular events, such as clubs or school social events. Raised: $951 - 32% funded
FamilyLink (K-8):
- Goal: $500 for enrichment workshops. Raised: $351 - 70% funded
StudentLink (9-12):
- Goal: $500 for the tutoring program. Raised: $551 - Goal exceeded!
BOUNS! VHS Future Business Leaders of America:
- Goal: $2,000 to help with the VHS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) get to the WA State Business Leadership Conference in April. VHS FBLA is a brand-new chapter, so starting from scratch with fundraising. A whopping 23 students are eligible to attend and compete at State after excelling at Regionals in a variety of competitive events such as accounting, entrepreneurship, event planning, sports and entertainment management, networking infrastructures, organizational leadership, marketing, job interview, social media strategies, and more. The State conference provides opportunities for our students to engage in competitive events, networking, workshops, leadership development, and earn the chance to advance to the FBLA National Leadership Conference in late June. Raised: $931 - 47% funded
