ParentSquare

Families receive messages through email, app, text, or voice, helping everyone stay informed and involved.

What you can do with ParentSquare:

  • Receive timely updates from your school via email, text, or app notification
  • Choose to receive posts individually or bundled in a daily digest
  • Communicate in your preferred language with automatic translation
  • Send direct messages to teachers and staff

Activiating your account

ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent using their email address and phone number as listed in Skyward Family Access. We encourage all families to download the app to utilize the full functionality of the platform. All new families should receive invitation email to join ParentSquare. If you do not, you can log-in at the ParentSquare website using the email address that is on file with the District.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The District automatically defaults families to the “digest” setting upon account activiation. The Digest setting sends direct messages and alerts instantly, but sends all non-time sensitive posts at the end of the day, reducing the number of notifications you receive daily.

    If you choose to receive all posts instantly, you may change your notification system via the web platform or app by following these directions.

  • ParentSquare will automatically translate all posts into whatever language parents/guardians choose. This translation works both ways, allowing parents/guardians to direct message teachers/staff in their native language, which is then translated to the language setting of the recipient. We highly encourage all families to have their language settings in ParentSquare set as the language they are most comfortable communicating in. Please follow these directions to update your language preference if needed.

  • Although we highly recommend families stay engaged with the District to know what is going on, you can turn off notifications for email, text, or app via the ParentSquare web platform or app. Learn more abuot managing notifications here.

    Please note: You cannot opt out of urgent alerts and notices. The District uses these messages in times of emergencies or inclement weather.

  • ParentSquare automatically imports information from our student information system. If your student is no longer with VISD and you are still receiving notifications, please contact us
