For the first time in over 20 years, the VHS Speech and Debate team has qualified students to compete in Main Events at the national tournament in Richmond, Virginia, this June.

Vashon High School has completed its second student exchange with Liceo Experimental Bilingüe de Pococí in Guápiles, in Costa Rica’s Limón Province—a program designed to promote bilingualism, cultural understanding, and lasting friendships between students in the two communities.

On Thursday, March 26, beginning at 6:00 p.m., the VISD Board of Directors will hold a Regular Board Meeting. The meeting will be held in-person at the District Office Conference Room #302, on the third floor of Chautauqua Elementary, 9309 SW Cemetery Rd. Click here to view the agenda.

Washington State Ferries is planning to replace the aging timber dock and passenger building at the Southworth Ferry Terminal.
Right now, WSF is hosting an online open house to introduce the project to the community. Y ou can visit the online open house via the project website. The online open house is open March 16 - April 5. Community members can visit the site to learn more about the project and share feedback on pre-design terminal building alternatives WSF is considering.

Journeymen is hosting a free screening of the film Gone Guys at Vashon Theatre, on Tuesday, April 28, at 5:30 p.m.
This 45-minute award-winning film explores the complex challenges young men face in finding an authentic sense of self, happiness, and purpose. The film will be followed by a panel discussion with Journeymen co-founder Alex Craighead and other local leaders.
