Our Mission and Vision
FamilyLink was created by homeschooling parents and the Vashon Island School District to combine the inherent strengths of homeschooling and the resources of the community in an environment that supports the values and beliefs of participating families. Though diverse in educational approach and method, we hold common these beliefs: • Our children are unique and deserve educational opportunities that respect their individuality. • As parents, we have the right and primary responsibility to direct, support and evaluate our children’s educational paths. • Our community properly serves its citizens by providing support for this program. Our mission is to realize this vision by linking families, the Vashon Island School District and the Island community in a partnership directed by individual family choice and enhanced by district and community resources.
