The formal Parent Input on Student Placement window for input is now closed.
Student Placement Process
At Chautauqua we take student placement very seriously and have developed procedures that allow teachers, staff and parents to provide input for the placement of students into their next year classes.
For our Multi-Age program we have a lottery system allowing parents to choose whether or not to include their child in our lottery. If a parent does not complete a form, students may also be put into the lottery based on staff recommendation.
We make an online form available to parents for them to provide input on their child and to select lottery interest for students entering 2nd or 3rd grade. We have a strict deadline for these forms to be received in order to allow time for organizing all the information for the actual placement work. Notification regarding your teacher placement for the next school year is provided to families through Skyward Family Access by mid-August. Incoming 1st grade students will receive a Parent Square form to complete regarding their interest in Multi-Age.
Parent Input on Student Placement Submission Window
For placement into the next school year, the Parent Input Form on Student Placement will be available starting between mid-March through April. There will be a strict deadline to submit a form for your child. No late forms will be accepted.
If you have a preference about your child participating in the Multi-Age program in grades 1-3, please complete this form during the open window. If you miss the window and have placement concerns, please speak to your child's teacher. They cannot, however, place your child into Multi-Age lottery after the deadline.
