2022 Levy

  • In February 2022, Vashon Island residents will be asked to vote on a EP&O Levy that renews critical funding for educational programs and services all Vashon Island School District students engage with.

  • It is important to note that the 2022 EP&O Levy is not a new tax. It renews an expiring tax that provides local funding for critical programs, services, and needs that are not covered by state and federal dollars. Because the current EP&O Levy comprises approximately 15 percent of VISD's current budget, a failure to enact the levy would mean significant and painful reductions and cuts to our faculty, programs, and services for students.

    • The proposed tax rate is $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value, starting in 2023 and ending in 2026.

The proposed EP&O Levy would allow the district to collect approximately $25 million over the course of four years.
