I have been teaching mathematics for 54 years, 43 years at McMurray Middle School, and 11 years before coming to Vashon... in Kenya, Chicago, St. John,New Brunswick, Canada, and in Seattle.  My wife and I have been married for 56 years, and we raised our two children on Vashon Island, mostly in the house where we currently live.  Both of them are products of the Vashon Island schools, and I am lucky to have had both of them as students in 8th grade math.  This year I get to teach my grandson Oscar in 7th grade math !   I am excited about the opportunity to work with and facilitate math learnings for all 7th graders at McMurray Middle School; Vashon is a wonderful place to live and work!  On my free time I enjoy riding my bicycle, reading middle school math blogs, and working in the yard.
