Take a Virtual Tour of the School
Chautauqua Elementary School opened in September, 1994 to merge Burton Elementary and Vashon Elementary staff and students, thus completing the Vashon Island School District "central campus". This year, over 80 staff members and 550 students, ranging from Preschool through 5th grade, enjoy our building and roughly 100 acres of fields, trails, and woods.

Chautauqua Elementary begins its school day at 9:00am. The Tardy bell rings at 9:10. The building opens for students with the first bell at 9:00am. Students arriving after the second bell at 9:10am are considered tardy and must check in to the main office prior to heading to class.

Dismissal begins at 3:30pm and the school day officially ends at 3:40 when the school buses depart. Parents picking their students up should do so from the classroom at the 3:30 bell or in the foyer by 3:40.

PDD - Late Arrival Days begin at 11:30am for grades 1 - 5.  Buses will run their routes 2 1/2 hours later.   All kindergarten classes begin at their normal time on PDD..
