• Each year, 5th graders from Chautauqua attend Waskowitz Outdoor School for 4 days. This environmental education experience east of North Bend includes academic, social, and independent growth in the safety of a school environment. Teachers and students investigate the outdoors, hike, meet and mingle with other schools, and enjoy a learning experience in the foothills of the Cascades.
    Dates for 2019-20:
Dates are yet to be determined.
    • Waskowitz Permission Form (Highline) - Required
    • Medication Form - Required if ANY (including Over the Counter medications) are to be sent with your child

The full cost for each student to attend Waskowitz is $200.  We request that those families able to pay the full amount do so, though this is not required; no student will be denied participation of the Camp Waskowitz experience based on financial circumstances.
The Vashon Island School District subsidizes the cost of Waskowitz and we ask parent's to pay at least $100.  You can pay this in our office with cash, check or credit or by credit online (additional fee applies).  When paying online, use the same username and password you use to log in to Skyward Family Access.  Contact our office with any questions.
We also want to thank and recognize Vashon PTSA for their financial assistance which helps reduce the cost to families.
Scholarships are made available to families qualifying for Free/Reduced Lunch and others as funds are available.  Please return your request form to the office 4 weeks before the Waskowitz departure date for processing.
