Ms. Amanda Long

Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Amanda Long

This will be my thirteenth year teaching elementary school and my eighth year at Chautauqua.  I graduated from University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2007 with a degree in education and a concentration in studio art. Before that I lived with my parents at the coast of North Carolina in a port city called Morehead City.  Even before that my family and I lived in Seattle, Washington.  I was born and raised in the central district along with my younger brother, Wyatt. Some of the things I really love to do are:  hike, write, explore, hula-hoop, kayak, eat with friends, listen to music, spend time with my family, and travel; and those are just some!

You will see my name printed as Amanda in many places. I was named after my grandmother who passed away before I was born; a wonderful woman I have heard. Since second grade, though, I have preferred to go by Manda and that is what I will sign my emails with!
