    Friday- Day 2: Mental Health Disorders  - Please have the "Understanding Mental Health Disorders" WS complete when you get to class today, as we will use this for discussion. 

    For Notebook: TIME Article: "The Kids Are Not All Right" - goal is to read to the heading "Conventional Wisdom" on page 48 of the article by Monday. All you will be responsible for turning in for this article is the half sheet that was handed out with the article, however please be aware there will be a question on the test next week that comes directly from the article. 

     

     

    Week #3 - February 10th-14th

    Week #4 - February 24th - February 28th - CPR/First Aid Unit

    Monday -  Begin CPR/First Aid Unit & Written Exam (Goal to get through at least 10 questions on the written exam each day)

                 - Preparing to be a first aid administrator, legal precautions 

    Tuesday-  Sudden Injury 

    Wednesday- Sudden Illness 

    Thursday- Enviornmental Injuries

    Friday- Hands-on CPR Practice; Complete and correct written exam

    **The only thing you need to turn in from this week is the completed written CPR/First Aid Exam**

     

    Week #5 - March 2nd - March 6th 

    Monday -  This week we began our drug and alcohol prevention unit. The District prevention specialist, Moana Trammel, was in class this entire week delivering the Project Success prevention curriculum.

    Monday -  Today in class we began our discussion of the "Science of Addiction" article. Here our goal is to think about how the brain, especially the developing brain, is impacted by drug and alcohol use.
