The film tells a story of Max, a mischievous young boy who turns his mother’s scolding into his imagination after being called a “wild thing.” Max is sent to his room where the story really begins. His bedroom transforms into an exotic forest setting. Max discovers “wild things” on this mysterious island. Though the creatures appear fierce, they are easily tamed by a single glance from Max. He is soon crowned the king, after being called “the most wild thing of all.” His fantasy soon ends when Max smells dinner, and he sails back to his room of reality.
This movie will not only prove to be worthwhile, the preview depicts a modern fairy tale appealing to viewers of all ages. The beastly, yet creative, monsters and mystical backdrop merges with a modern feel of Arcade Fire’s song “Wake up.”
