Board Bond Proposal Meetings

Subject: Talk with our board about the facilities proposal

Dear Parents and Colleagues,

I hope that your holiday was restful and fulfilling.

In the coming weeks, the Vashon Island School District Board of Directors will hold a number of community events about proposed facility improvements that would appear on a bond tentatively scheduled for April 25th. Upgrades under consideration include a new track and field for Vashon Island High School, a new Facilities Maintenance building, and various other projects on our school campuses.

The public is encouraged to drop by one of these events to ask questions and interact directly with board members who will be considering input for the bond proposal. Board members will have handouts with detailed information about options and improvements.

Events are scheduled as follows

Community Q & A: Saturday, January 7th outside of Granny’s and IGA Market from 11am to 2pm.
Community Q & A: Saturday, January 14th outside of Thriftway from 11am to 2pm.
Community Meeting: Thursday, January 19th at Chautauqua Elementary Conference Room from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Community Meeting: Saturday, January 21st at Vashon Island King County Public Library beginning at 10am.

Please take advantage of this opportunity to speak directly with board members. They will be listening intently to what you have to say and will be prepared to respond to your questions.

Respectfully yours,

Michael Soltman

Superintendent of Schools
